All about the Indrahar Pass Trek

Indrahar Pass is situated at an altitude of 4,420 meters in Dhauladhar ranges near  the famous tourist town of Mcleod Ganj in Himachal Pradesh. Indrahar pass forms the border between Kangra and Chamba district.
The trek starts from Mcleodganj which is the popular hill town and passes through the Beautiful local villages, the dense mixed forest of oak/ deodar/ Rhododendrons( state flower) , Lush green meadows, Rocky terrains, Glacier, River, Snow, Ice and go up to Indrahar Pass.
The most memorable moment of the trek will definitely be the magnificent view from Indrahar Pass to the south there is a spectacular view of Indian Plains, to the north scared peak of Manimahesh Kailash and unending snow-capped Pir-Panjal Ranges.
It’s a short yet reasonably challenging trek and just in 3 days one can achieve a maximum altitude of 4,420 M. Indrahar pass trek is a great trek for both the beginner, as well as the experienced trekkers as it has a variety of elements making it interesting for both

  1. Day 1 MCLEODGANJ – TRIUND (2975 M) ( 9 KM TREK, 4-5 HOURS)

    On arrival at Mcleodganj, meet and greet our team . After which we will be leaving the colorful market of Mcleodganj and start our hike for the day. The trek for the day starts with an ascent to Triund. The trail to Triund is an easy ascent only the last stretch of the day is a bit steep. Triund is flat meadow on the top of the ridge from where one can have a breathtaking view of Dhauladhar to the north and Kangra valley to the south. The trail passes through the quaint village of Dharamkot , Galu Devi Temple, and the dense forest of Oak, Rhododendron(state Flower). Overnight camping and Dinner at Triund.

  2. Day 2 TRIUND – LAQA GOT (3300 M) ( TREK 4-5 HOURS )

    After Breakfast we trek from triund to laqa got Via Snowline Café. Laqa Got is famous among the Gaddi Shepherd for staying at night. The trek from Triund is an ascent of 2 km toward snowline café and from there it descent of 3 km till Laqa Got. Laqa Got is a big Alpine meadow with a spectacular view. Overnight camping and Dinner at Laqa Got.

  3. Day 3 LAKA GOT – INDRAHAR PASS(4420 M) – LAQA GOT (TREK 7-8 HOURS)

    On this day we began early morning, as it will be a big day. After an early Breakfast we Start our hike to reach Lahesh. From the caves to the pass it’s an steep uphill trek. This difficult trek will roughly take 4-5 hours to reach on the top . It is long exhausting yet the most rewarding part of the trek. Depending on the time of year there may be ice, snow or rocky path on the last stretch to the pass. At the summit plunge yourself in the unbelievable view of Pir-Panjal and Manimahesh Kailash. As the day progresses the weather becomes unpredictable, so after a small halt at the pass, we begin descending back to Laqa Got Overnight Camping and dinner at Laqa Got.

  4. Day 4 LAKA GOT – MCLEODGANJ (1800 M)(TREK 4-5 HOURS)

    After breakfast we trek back to the same route and return to Mcleodganj via Triund. Trek ends here !!
